Nightwing wakes up in a morgue freezer and cuts his way out. He calls Oracle and asks what happened to Starfire and Raven. knowing that his friends would not have willingly left him behind. She tells him that they are returning to Olivia's shelter and he warns her that something has gone wrong. She sends Cyborg to Boom Tube him to Olivia's location.

At the safehouse the Grinning Man, disguised as Nightwing, wakes Olivia up and tells her they need to leave. He leads her outside but the real Nightwing confronts him. The Grinning Man claims Dick is the impostor and attacks him, but Dick is able to prove who he is by telling Olivia his dog's name is Bitweing. She punches the Grinning Man away, however he is unharmed and grabs her, then attempts to fly away. Raven, Starfire and Cyborg are waiting for him in the air, and he attempts to escape by hurling Olivia away so they will chase after her, but instead Donna Troy catches Olivia and Starfire and Cyborg blast him out of the sky. He lands in some nearby woods where Wally West punches him out.

The Titans interrogate the Grinning Man with the Lasso of Persuasion and he tells them that he was sent by Neron. Raven tells them that Neron doesn't actually care about Olivia, but since he has already failed to harvest her soul once he needs to capture her quickly or he will look weak and his subordinates will try to overthrow him. Nightwing wonders how a contract Blockbuster signed can be used to claim Olvia's soul and Beast Boy sarcastically days they should go to Hell and steal the contract, which Raven suggests they actually do. Donna and Starfire say they will take Olivia to Themyscira while the others go to hell and steal Blockbuster's contract with Neron.
