"I attend the Episcopal Church because I am part of the worship service even sitting in the congregation. I have a vocal input even if it is only reciting the prayers or creeds with others - my voice is heard by my fellow attendees and by God. I am putting claim to the prayer I pray or the creed I recite. I pray the prayers for others and for myself by speaking them aloud. I attend St. Mary's because I am comfortable here - When I kneel and pray before services begin I can place my sorrows, hurts, unkind words or actions on the altar and walk away for a new week refreshed and ready to serve. I find a great deal of peace in our church, not because of me but because I can find forgiveness and joy within these walls simply by letting go of me and looking to and for God." BH
