英语中的许多名词，有的接动词不定式作后置定语，有的接of doing做后置定语。有的名词兼而有之。在教学实践中，我们经常会见到这样的句子：This is the best way to study (of studying) English. 这是学习英语的最好方法。You have the right to keep (of keeping) silent. 你有权保持沉默。除了way和right以外，常见的有ambition（雄心，抱负），challenge（挑战），chance（机会；可能性），determination（决心，决定），favour（善行，恩惠），honour （荣幸，荣誉），intention（想法，打算），liberty（自由），misfortune（不幸，灾祸），necessity（必要，需要）等等。▲way 表示“方法，方式”之意时，两者皆可。再举数例：He's trying to figure out a way to solve the problem.他正在努力想办法解决这个问题。 Can anybody think of a way to raise money?有人能想出筹款的办法吗？ They could not find a way to get themselves out.他们无法找到一条逃生之路。What is the best way of proceeding?最好采取什麽方式继续下去? We have found a way of safeguarding our money.我们已有了保护钱财的办法。 Do you see a way of getting round the problem?你有解决这问题的办法吗? ▲当 way 表示“道路”之意时，后面的to是介词，意为“通向......之路”，后接名词或动名词。例如：Self-help is the best way to success. 自助乃最佳成功之道。I believe this treaty will pave the way to peace in Europe. 我相信这个条约将为欧洲的和平铺平道路。Starting your own business could be a way to achieving financial independence, on the other hand, it could just put you in debt. 创办自己的生意，或许是实现财务独立之道；但另一方面，它也会让你身负债务。By following these four steps, you’ll be on your way to getting credit for your knowledge and accomplishments. 通过以下四个步骤，你可以为你的知识和成就获得相应的学分。
