Nanno is an established immortal being, disguised as a young female student who transfers to different school establishments to expose hypocrisy, pedophilia, and other problems kept secret within the buildings. Although the source of Nanno's abilities or her herself, including her whereabouts before the series remain a mystery, she is not human, and is of supernatural origins likely.

Physical appearance

Nanno has choppy dark hair, with dark brown eyes. She is displays the same button-up plain white shirt and black skirt uniform throughout seasons one and two. She is a teenage girl of Thai descent, light-tanned skin with a slim figure.

Personality and traits

Nanno is condescendingly intelligent, and strives and succeeds in manipulating all of her victims, by gas-lighting, guilt-tripping, or antagonizing them relentlessly, until they eventually commit a crime. She can appear bubbly and open, however she is complex and somewhat malicious. She can easily assume any persona with her smooth words and believable expressions. She is straightforward often, but not stoic.

Nanno is shown to be passionate and competent when it comes to her mostly unbiased purpose, which is pushing justice at any cost. She has displayed minimal emotion despite her usual apathetic demeanor: she showed possible authentic romantic interest to TK, and cried in the course of their departure, and during meeting Yuri's mother, she cried genuinely for a healthy mother-daugnter relationship similar to theirs. Nanno has never shown genuine emotions to any character besides herself.

During an exploit, Nanno usually strives to appear innocent, dumb, unaware, and sexually desirable, in some cases. She acts carefree and friendly, in contrast to her soulless and chaotic true self. She performs obediently and not boorishly, often striving to seem perfect on the outside.

Powers and Abilities Immortality: Notably one of Nanno's most useful and key abilities is the innate ability of immortality. After being killed off, Nanno reappears soon after. As showcased in "Apologies", she can revive herself immediately after dying. She can also gift this ability to others of her choice. Power Transferal: It is shown in Yuri, that when consuming an amount of Nanno's blood, they will get almost the same powers as Nanno's. Precognition: In "The Judgement", she dreamt of her own death. Teleportation: There are scenes in which Nanno can get in and out of a place that is locked or can just disappear and appear out of nowhere. Like in "Liberation", where the faculty are confused on how she got out of the Repentance Room that was locked from the outside, or in "Wonderwall Pt.2", where she walked past a post and seemingly vanished thereafter. Clone Creation: Nanno can cast clones of herself. This is seen on Apologies and Liberation where she cast clones of herself in order to help her out on situations where she seems to be outnumbered.Weaknesses Reality Manipulation: Also not shown explicitly but subliminally, Nanno can affect the world around her. Which is why she's aware about any event that happens while she roams the school, or why the world seems to be in her favor. She can be a bullied high school student on one school, and a rich one on another. Either way, with her actions, the world revolves sometimes around it. In the episode, Wonderwall Part 2, Nanno warped reality on such a level, that she made everyone on earth (supposedly) disappear. It's hypothesized she created a new timeline. Wish Granting: In "Hi-So", Nanno can grant people's wishes in exchange for money. She can grant their wishes, no matter how ambitious it is. From getting a motorcycle, getting good grades, or even a new girlfriend. Trivia Notably, Nanno is often compared, in terms of traits and overall characteristics, to Junji Ito's Tomie Kawakami. In addition, they seemingly have very similar intentions, motives, and abilities. It would be possible that Nanno's character takes inspiration from Tomie. Her real name is Mara Amaratayakul, as shown in "The Rank" "Mara" in Thai means "devil, antichrist, demon, satan" and "Amara" means "immortal" which fits into her character, and also gives us insight into what her true intentions might be. Though many have somewhat died on her behalf, Nanno has never actually murdered someone physically. In "The Judgement", Nanno "died" and was showered by pink pedals, the very thing she hated being flowers.
