Within the Qair Iberian team, and reporting to the General Manager and operationally to the Senior Project Manager of Qair Renewables Ibérica (“QRI”), the Cartographer will lead the development of the cartography in Iberia.

The position will be based at Madrid Qair`s Office. Available for sporadical site visit trips in Spain and Portugal.

MISSIONS

The main duties of the Cartographer will be:

In regards with Cartography:

Create, develop, and maintain web GIS (Geographic Information System) content, including map services, feature services, web maps, and web applications, with the in-house dedicated tool (currently Lizmap), to support discipline specific GIS; Create, update, and manage content within discipline specific GIS databases; Research on online databases to determine resource interest (e.g. land, water, energy resources, ect); Create, edit and maintain accurate GIS data, spatial databases, and perform tasks related to various analyses; Produce cartographically appealing mapping products; Establish, structure and grow the Cartographic procedures and practices. Knowledge of CAD/CAM would be appreciated.

In regards with Renewable Energy (“RE”):

Produce feasibility studies for RE projects, like technical reports; Assessment of potential sites (cartography, field study and visits); Assist the Project Manager during the all-project development in regards with Cartopgraphy and site assessment matters.

MAIN TASKS

He/She provides the Team with the following values:

More than 2 years of experience in the sector. Extensive experience in cartography applied to renewable energy projects; Cartography software (QGIS and plugin); Database management with SGBD PostgreSQL; Programming language: Python or HTML will be appreciated; Experience with webGIS management; A master’s degree in Cartography Geography, Computer Science, Mathematics, she/he already has a noteworthy experience. Basics in environmental Law (Spain/Portuguese/European); Good interpersonal and writing skills. Has a network of potential local partners; Being comfortable with standard IT tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Project) and scheduling software; Have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish. French and/or Portuguese will be a plus; Being rigorous, methodical and appreciating teamwork, always being able to work with a great deal of autonomy.
