beat note 单拍子中的单位拍音符（拍号中横线下面的“以XX音符为一拍”的音符）/复拍子中时值较大的单位拍音符（基本律动）

*这里需要强调的是国内的主流乐理理论在单拍子与复拍子的定义与国际学界有明显区别，而且笔者认为这个关乎这个定义的争论没什么必要（因为在音乐实践中甚少用到）。simple beat的定义是每一个基本律动拍（beat note）如果可以均分成两部分，compound beat则是可均分成三部分。如2/4拍就是simple duple，3/8拍和3/4拍都是simple triple，4/4拍也是simple quardruple.

根据国际学界对6/8的定义它可以被先看做一个大的2/4拍，因此它的基本律动拍（beat note）是一个附点四分音符，可以均分成三个八分音符（division of the beat），所以是compound duple,6/4拍也是compound duple；9/8拍就是compound triple，12/4拍就是compound quardruple.
