In order to do so, there are a few commits on OpenSSl that needs to be integrated into Debian's package. The upstream patches that support ppc64el are the following: - http://git.openssl.org/gitweb/?p=openssl.git;a=commit;h=f586d97191ad9821faea026df68aceaba45d1800 - http://git.openssl.org/gitweb/?p=openssl.git;a=commit;h=f1982acc125341b0a92b6a90da1f775f88a2208d - http://git.openssl.org/gitweb/?p=openssl.git;a=commit;h=fb65e65e28136e465f2534a5abade67ed3a03cee - http://git.openssl.org/gitweb/?p=openssl.git;a=commit;h=c944f8170358ecce419045b919be604844369e36 - http://git.openssl.org/gitweb/?p=openssl.git;a=commit;h=8ff8a829b053274124c3f2231570af3ae96806c0 - http://git.openssl.org/gitweb/?p=openssl.git;a=commit;h=3f9562a669b116a4cdd62922563b8d45a1cbf60d I have backported them into OpenSSL version 1.0.1g. On the other hand, If you plan to just update the 1.0.2 beta version, I am also providing a patch for this version. From: Breno Leitao To: [email protected], Kurt Roeckx Date: Thu, 07 Aug 2014 15:19:47 -0300 Control: reopen -1 bugnumber Hi Kurt, Unfortunately the version you release (1.0.1i-1) doesn't contain the code patches that enable ppc64el. So, it continue to FTBFS in ppc64el. In order to have Openssl compiled properly in ppc64el, Openssl needs to have the committed patches in the code. (version 1.0.1i doesn't have it yet). The patches were already committed to Openssl code, but, not released into 1.0.1i. The 6 required patches are listed in the bug description, and there were a backport for 1.0.1g. If you want, I would work to backport it to 1.0.1g. How does it sound? Thank you, Breno
