This vintage Persian Heriz rug features a large octofoil medallion with flaming palmette pendants floating in the center of on an abrashed terra cotta field. An intricate arrangement of palmettes, lanceolate leaves, rosettes, buds, and blooms surrounds the medallion, filling the field. Complementary scalloped corner spandrels echo the designs of the medallion and field. A Classic Herati main border with samovar-shaped palmettes, along with graphic floret secondary borders, elegantly frame the composition, pulling together colors from throughout into a unified, harmonious design.
