Proper fraction button is used to change a number of the form of 9/5 to the form of 1 4/5. A proper fraction is a fraction where the numerator (top number) is less than the denominator (bottom number). Improper fraction button is used to change a number of the form of 1 4/5 to the form of 9/5. An improper fraction is a fraction where the numerator (top number is greater than or equal to the denominator (bottom number).
