Launched initially in 1996 in New York City, MSNBC focuses on news and political commentary, featuring interviews and rolling coverage throughout the day on US-centric and International news stories. Originally the channel was a joint venture of MSN (Microsoft Network) and NBC (National Broadcasting Company) but has since become a product of the NBC Corporation.
