it is time that为什么从句要用一般过去式

同意曾老师的观点：在It is time that...结构中，that 从句使用虚拟语气。

that 从句为何使用虚拟语气（与现在时间不符）？我觉得，从句中表示的这件事情，本来应该在过去就做了，但实际上未做；或者说，这个动作本来应该在过去发生，而实际未发生。所以，我们用过去时表示这个在过去就该发生的动作。表示“早该做某事了”，说明现在有些晚了。

此外，除了It’s time 外，还可说 It’s high time 或 It’s about time。

在 It’s (high/about) time (that)...后，通常用一般过去时，有时也可用“should + 动词原形”形式。

例如：

1. It's time that you made up your mind.  你早就该下定决心了。

2. It's time we should go to bed.  我们该上床睡觉了。

3. It's high time you got a job and set up a home. 你该找份工作，安个家了。

4. It's high time we did our homework. 我们该做我们的家庭作业了。

5. It is about time that you stopped speaking.  你早该停止发布言论了。

6. It is about time that the thing should be done.  是该做这件事的时候了。
