2021年是中国共产党（the Communist Party of China）成立100周年，是我国开启全面建设社会主义现代化国家新征程之年。因此，今年外研社国才杯演讲大赛的定题演讲题目为：Red Star Over China（红星照耀中国）。这颗具有深远影响和伟大意义的“红星”，照耀中国，照耀人民，激励每一位大学生为实现中华民族伟大复兴的梦想、为构建人类命运共同体而努力学习，奋力前行。

我们外国语学院商务英语专业的优秀选手冯园园同学获得了本次比赛校赛一等奖的好成绩***。在随后河南省赛区的比赛中，朱茜老师指导的王若琦同学和杨阿娣老师指导的向可可同学双双获得了省赛一等奖的好成绩。比赛虽然结束了，但学习并没有结束，让我们再来回顾一下本次比赛的视频，重温那段难忘的历史，探讨本次比赛赛题的演讲稿的撰写思路吧。

对于热爱演讲、期待在比赛中取得佳绩的小伙伴来说，写一篇好的演讲稿可谓是至关重要，是踏上比赛征程的第一步（A good beginning is half done)。可是说着容易，做着难（It's always easy to say something but difficult to do it）。面对“Red Star Over China,"这个宏大的题目，感觉把握不住啊，有很多话想说，但又不知从何说起，这篇演讲稿好难写啊，怎么办啊？别着急，今天咱们就来讲讲这篇演讲稿的破题思路。

首先，我们要深入理解红星，因为“红星”是题目中的关键词，是题眼，全文都要围绕“红星”展开。红星的意义又分为指称意义或者本义（denotation）和内涵意义或者联想义(connotation)。“红星”的字面意义简单，即红色五星；它的寓意却十分丰富，红星是共产主义（communism）和社会主义（socialism）的象征性标志，经常出现在社会主义国家的国旗和国徽上。

具体说来，在中国，红星象征着中国共产党的领导（the leadership of the CPC），因为中国革命和建设事业取得的胜利和成就离不开党英明正确的领导，中国共产党是我们民族精神的化身，红星散发出光和热，给人们带去温暖与力量，指引中国人民前进的方向。

其次，另外一个关键词是长征（the Long March），视频中也重点描述了长征，斯诺称赞长征是一部英雄史诗（human epic)，是现代史上的无与伦比的一次远征。斯诺用毋庸置疑的事实向世界宣告：中国共产党及其领导的革命事业犹如一颗闪亮的红星不仅照耀着中国的西北，而且必将照耀全中国，照耀全世界。

2021定题演讲题目有特定背景，好的演讲要站位高、格局大，所以这篇演讲稿要写好，首先一定要深刻理解红星、长征、中国共产党，这些关键因素之间的关系。

下面，我给大家提供几种思路来组织材料，供大家参考：

思路一：

按时间顺序来组织材料（choronological order）和撰写演讲稿，因为“红星照耀中国”是一个跨越了百年的壮举,（the red star story is a long story, an epic covering 100 years) 具体说来，可以按过去、现在、将来三个部分来写。

1.Red star over China in the past (可以聚焦长征)

2.Red star over China in the present(可以主要写抗疫，扶贫取得的成就)

3.Red star will forever over China in the future (可以主要写共同富裕、中国梦和中华民族伟大复兴)

思路二：

长征是视频中的一个重要线索，大家可以用长征这个主题来贯穿全文，隐喻为征程journey。可以把长征这个整体分解为不同的阶段，选取其中的某次会议（例如关系到党生死攸关的遵义会议）、某次战役（四渡赤水、飞夺泸定桥））进行扩展，阐明其对长征本身及对中国历史的重要意义，大家也可选取长征中的某个人物，长征中的某个感人事件，探讨其内涵和长征精神在当今时代的意义和影响，该如何学习和发扬等。

思路三：

针对定题演讲题目，具体说来，可以从一个具体的点入手，即一个具体事件或画面，以小见大，可以作为演讲稿的开场白，吸引读者的意力和好奇心。

1. 例如可以从《闪闪的红星》这部电影的主题曲”红星闪闪放光彩，红星灿灿暖胸怀，红星是咱工农的心，党的光辉照万代”这首歌为切入点，哼唱这首歌的旋律，引出主题，别具一格，十分新颖又贴合主题。

2. 也可以用向现场观众提问的方式，来引出主题，比如“跑800米累不累，跑1000米累不累”，然后引出红军两万五千里长征的艰辛与不易，这样容易得到观众的共情。（校赛一等奖获得者冯园园同学的演讲稿即这样开篇）

3. 也可以从爷爷是个老红军，从爷爷书柜里的一本书（《红星照耀中国》），引出主题。

4. 也可以从送哥哥参军这个场面，引出主题。

最后，不知道大家注意到了没有，题目实际上是由两部分组成，Red Star over China：an Unfinished Story, 既然是unfinished stroy，我们既往也必须开来，要传承红色基因（inherit the red gene），发扬革命传统（carry forward the revolutionary tradition），开启新征程 （embark on a new journey），续写未完的传奇（continue the unfinished legend）。在中国共产党成立100周年之际,重温党的光辉历程, 缅怀党的丰功伟绩, 感受党的红色印记, 不忘初心、砥砺奋进。我们要永葆一颗“红星向党”的初心，让党的光辉在祖国大地绽放最耀眼的光芒。

以上思路仅供大家参考，演讲的最终目的就在于打动观众，因此演讲稿既要“上口”又要“入耳”，具体写稿子时，还要经过一遍一遍的打磨，增强语言的表现力和感染力。

Red Star over China, an Unfinished Story

 ——From the Long March to the Great Rejuvenation

        Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Before starting the speech, I’d like to ask you a question: do you feel tired after finishing an 800 meters race or 1000 meters race?  And you must be amazed to hear the Long March is more than 600 miles. Despite its astonishing length, the soldiers are expected to fight against the enemies, escape the air attacks from time to time and overcome the difficulties both mentally and physically along the way. Luckily, they finally made it and achieved the seemingly impossible feat. At that time, a red star, symbolizing the Communist Party of China, was gradually rising in Shaanxi province and quickly spread nationwide in the following years. Although the epic event took place over eighty years ago, the heroism and optimism it presents still inspire us Chinese people.

         Each generation has its own long march. In the past 40 years, with thedeepening of reform and opening up, our country has witnessed considerable profound changes, among which, the most impressive one might be that nearly one hundred million people have been lifted out of poverty.

        Last year, an unexpected virus—COVID-19 greatly attacked the world. In China, thousands of medical personnel took quick and effective actions under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. Shortly afterwards, the condition was under control and we also offered as much help as possible to other countries around the world. Not only does it show the China’s sense of responsibility for the international society, but it also has the vision to build a community of a shared future for mankind.

        Obviously, the Communist Party of China is leading Chinese people, even the whole world to a prosperous and bright future. However, there are still many things to do on our way to the great rejuvenation of our nationhood, so it’s an unfinished story. Moreover, it is reported that there are more than ninety million members of Communist Party of China and these young members infuse new energy, creative ideas and endless possibilities into the party. Therefore, I firmly believe that as long as we never forget where we started, and our mission can be accomplished. 

冯园园同学还给大家传授了一个演讲技巧。

(冯园园说)在我上过Bart的Speech and Debate的课程中，Bart着重讲解了Ask a question to catch the attention of the audience and to attract others' thoughts and interests.

即问问题，引起思考，后引入主题。我在我的final exam of speech里，同样使用了这个技巧。我在撰写一篇环境污染的演讲稿开头时，也用到了一句Have you ever seen the plastic bags dancing in the wind？

但是大家要注意在开头引入主题时，要问过问题后停顿几秒钟。常言道 More haste, less speed, 如果过渡的特别快，所问的问题就会变成一个自问而不会引发思考了。

(Becky老师说)，学以致用最重要，大家可以想一想，怎样才能更好地把课程中学到的理论知识和技巧应用到自己语言学习的实践中去。同理，写作文也是类似的，我们也可以用提问的方式开头，引起读者的阅读兴趣。
