Sony CDP

To most people this is just an old Sony CD player. To a select few of us, this thing is the gold standard for audiophile CD music listening. This is the pinnacle. The CD player by which all other CD players are measured. I have enjoyed this unit for about five years, but it's time to go. It is 100% functional and operational, and scores a 9 / 10 on appearance. The front of the unit is flawless. However, one of the side panels has a couple of dents in it. These dents are not visible when the unit is on a shelf or rack. Also, the side panels are simply screwed on / removable, meaning that a repair or replacement would be super simple. The side panels are just MDF with rosewood veneer. Might be cool to make some solid hardwood side panels. But again, none of this is noticeable when the unit is sitting in your equipment shelf.

Go try to find one of these CD players - you won't be able to find one at all. And if by chance you do find one, the asking price will undoubtedly be more than I'm asking. There's one listed on a major auction site right now for $1499.

The inside is copper shielded from the factory. It has balanced and unbalanced analog outputs, and an optical/digital outputs. I used mine through a vintage Yamaha receiver and a set of Klipsch Heresys from the 1970s. The difference between this CD player and my nice Marantz and Adcom CD players is undeniable, even to my wife (who does not claim to have any type of ear for this stuff).  This unit sounds simply spectacular.

I'm not really interested in shipping - this thing weighs 38 pounds, and I don't have the right box or styrofoam packing endcaps to safely ship it.  HOWEVER... If you're willing to send me a proper box and pre-paid shipping label, I would gladly follow through with that arrangement.

NO RETURNS.  The item has been playing fine, without any problems for the entire time I have owned it (5 years).  I have used all outputs during this time, and they all work.  I just tested everything again before posting this ad.  Since I am not shipping, a prospective buyer can test it out prior to purchase.
