（并没有）俗话说： "家事不属于女人，也不属于男人，而是属于看不下去的人" 。

整理房子这种事都是拖到有一天突然心血来潮才做，

整理完就又进入下一个杂乱周期了，是不是！

说到做家事的英语，

很多人都可以信手捻来 “do the dishes（洗碗）”、 “do the laundry（洗衣服）” 等短语，

但你有想过各种锅碗瓢盆、洗衣精、清洁剂等等相关生活物品英语怎么说吗？

这次就和 Engoo 一起来学学扫地、拖地、折衣服、缴帐单等 "家事" 相关英语吧！

"家事" 有“Chore” 和“Housework” 这两种说法：

Chore 是可数名词，因为家事通常不会只有一件，所以比较常看到复数型“chores” 出现；

Housework 是不可数名词，词面上就是 "家庭工作" ，非常好记。

【例句】

I can't hang out with you this weekend. I have too many chores/much housework to do.

我这周末不能和你出去，因为有太多家事要做了。

*包含 "胶棉拖把（sponge mop）" "除尘拖把（dust mop）" 、"纱线拖把（string mop）" 和 "蒸汽拖把（steam mop）" 。

【例句】

Can you sweep the kitchen floor?

可以请你扫一下厨房地板吗？

【例句】

Our puppy peed in the living room, so I had to mop the floor and spray it with disinfectant.

我们家狗狗在客厅尿尿，所以我需要拖地，并喷一些除菌喷雾。

【例句】

I was scrubbing the bathtub this morning, and now my lower back hurts.

我今天早上都在刷洗浴缸，现在下背很酸痛。

【例句】

I haven't vacuumed the basement in a while, so there were lots of dead bugs on the floor.

我很久没有用吸尘器清洁地下室了，所以地上有很多死虫尸体。

【例句】

Can you do the dishes tonight? I did them last night.

今晚可以换你洗碗吗？我昨天洗过了。

【例句】

Remember to take out the trash at least once every two days, or it will stink in the house!

记得至少每两天倒一次垃圾，不然家里会很臭！

【例句】

Your room is always so neat and tidy.

你的房间一直都保持得很干净整洁。

【例句】

My aunt always keeps her kitchen spotless.

我阿姨总是把厨房保持得一尘不染。

【例句】

How can you live in such a messy room?

这么杂乱的房间你怎么住得下去？

My husband cooks dinner for our family every Saturday.

我先生每周六都会为全家下厨煮晚餐。

【例句】

Can you stir the stew and turn the heat down a bit?

可以请你搅拌一下炖菜然后把火关小一点吗？

【例句】

I forgot to drain the pasta, so it got soggy.

我忘记把义大利面的水沥干，所以它现在湿湿软软的。

【例句】

I like making bread. Kneading dough is relaxing to me.

我喜欢做面包。我觉得揉捏面团很疗愈。

【例句】

The chicken cutlet needs to be breaded.

鸡排需要裹粉。

【例句】

Stir the onions until they are browned. 

一直搅拌洋葱，直到它呈褐色。

“Sauté” 来自法文，指 "用油去炒"  ，过去分词加上 -ed 表示 "炒过的" ，

念法是 /sɔːˈteɪ/。

【例句】

The vegetables have been sautéed.

这些蔬菜已经炒过了。

这里的 “hang” 是指 "吊挂" ，但要整句要翻译成 "晾衣服" 或 "晒衣服" ，

才符合中文用词习惯喔～

【例句】

It's a nice day to hang the laundry outside.

今天天气很适合把衣服晒在外面。

【例句】

Can you bring in the laundry? It started raining.

可以请你把衣服收进来吗？开始在下雨了。

【例句】

My five-year-old daughter likes to help me fold the laundry.

我五岁大的女儿喜欢帮我折衣服。

“Iron” 除了名词 "铁" ，也可以当作动词 "熨烫" 及名词 "熨斗" 。

【例句】

All my work shirts need to be ironed.

我所有上班会穿的衬衫都得先熨烫过。

【例句】

Can you bring your dirty clothes to the laundry room?

可以把你的脏衣服拿到洗衣间吗？

【例句】

Mom, where are the clean sheets for my bed?

妈，干净的床单放在哪？

动词 “wrinkle” 指 "使......变皱" ，这里加上 -ed 变成过去分词当形容词使用，指 "皱的" 。

而 “wrinkle” 当名词也可以指 "皱折、皱纹" 。

【例句】

He always wears wrinkled shirts.  

他的衣服总是皱皱的。

【例句】

These towels are still damp. Can you put them back in the dryer for another 10 minutes?

这几条毛巾还是湿湿的。可以再放进烘衣机烘个十分钟吗？

【例句】

I forgot to pay my water bill this month!

我这个月忘记缴水费了！

【例句】

Do you want to go out for dinner tonight? I got paid yesterday. 

今晚想要出去吃吗？我昨天发薪了。

【例句】

Making a budget can help with your spending habits and help you achieve financial goals.

制定预算能帮你养成节流的好习惯，也能帮助你达到财务目标。

【例句】

I've been saving money for my trip to Hawaii next year.

我最近在为明年的夏威夷之旅存钱。

【例句】

Heating costs were expensive this month. 

这个月暖气费用很高。

*在较寒冷的地区，家户会安装 "地暖系统" 或 "暖房系统" ，

天气寒冷时也会是一笔额外支出。

“Out of pocket” 字面上意思就是 "从口袋出来" ，

这边用到连接号（Hyphen）连接三个词，词性从介词短语变成复合形容词。

【例句】

We had to pay some out-of-pocket costs for primary care this month.

这个月我们必须自掏腰包支付一些基本医疗费用。
