今天，我们说说“笑点”用英语怎么说

按照我们英文早餐的传统，周日的节目通常是英文绕口令或者英文笑话。

每次准备英文笑话的时候，我都很头疼，原因有两个：其一，原版的英文笑话很多都是冷笑话，很多同学看的时候没有feel；其二，大家笑点不同。有一些笑话部分都学会LOL（哈哈大笑），有一些同学则没有感觉，我选的时候，尽可能选我觉得能让大部分同学笑的笑话。

所以，后来，我索性都是看咱们国内的中文笑话，然后改编成英文，效果有所改善，才有了我们的“Auntie Wang 王阿姨”系列笑话。

所以，大家如果有什么压箱底的笑话，中英文均可，麻烦私信我，不胜感激。

好，言归正传，我们今天就学学和笑话相关的一些表达。

punchline

/ˈpʌntʃlaɪn/ 

n.笑点；包袱；梗

【解释】

Jokes usually have a setup and a punchline. The setup sets up, or introduces, the scenario or story, giving you any information you need to understand the funny part. The punchline is the funny part.

笑话通常有一个铺垫和一个笑点。铺垫部分会铺垫或者介绍一个情景或者故事，给你所需的信息，让你理解其中的搞笑部分。而笑点就是故事中的搞笑部分。

【例句】

If you take this joke so literally, you will probably miss the punchline.

如果你老是按字面意思理解这个笑话的话，你很可能理解不了其中的笑点。

【注意】

说某人笑点低，其中的“笑点”可不是“punchline”哦；因为punchline专门指笑话当中的“笑点”或者“搞笑之处”；如果要说某人笑点低/高，可以意译为：

somebody is / isn't easily amused. 某人很容易/不容易逗乐。

还有一个正确但不是那么流行的说法：

have a low/high laugh threshold 笑点低/高

= have  a low/high humor threshold 

其中的

threshold n. 门槛；阈值；临界点

A threshold is an amount, level, or limit on a scale. When the threshold is reached, something else happens or changes.

阈值是一个规模上的数量、水平或限制。当达到阈值时，其他事情发生或改变。

类似的表达还有：

have a low boredom threshold 容易感到无聊

have a low pain threshold 痛点很低

【解释】

If you say that a person or an organization has become a laughing stock, you mean that they are supposed to be important or serious but have been made to seem ridiculous.

真相一定不能传出去。万一传出去，她会成为笑柄。
