《反生活》:

后大屠杀时代犹太人身份的建构

内容提要:犹太身份的建构是犹太性的核心问题,关乎犹太民族的血脉联系和

犹太文化的延续传承。菲利普·罗斯在小说《反生活》中以后现代文学手法多地域、

广视角、全景式观照了世界范围内犹太人的生存问题。本文剖析了《反生活》在看

似荒诞不经的元小说构架下实则有着严肃的现实能指:后大屠杀时代犹太人在精神

危机、身份归属以及反犹主义等方面遭遇生存困境,在身份建构的历程中备尝艰辛。

天地之大,何以为家?罗斯在深刻反思的同时,表现了其独特的犹太身份观:真正的

犹太人应该是一个精神独立、自由选择、自我塑造的全新犹太人。

Title: Counterlife: The Construction of Jewish Identity in the Post-Holocaust Era

ABSTRACT: The construction of Jewish identity is at the heart of Jewishness be-

cause it is vital to sustain the bond between Jewish people and transmit Jewish culture. In

Counterlife, Philip Roth focuses on the theme of Jewish identity construction and represents

the panorama of Jewish life in the post-holocaust era using postmodern literary techniques.

This article reveals how the theme of identity underlies the seemingly absurd structure of

this metafiction novel. Struggling with their construction of identity, Jewish people are

caught up in spiritual crises, identity crises and anti-Semitism. Where is the promised land?

Roth ponders the issue and then expounds how he perceives Jewish identity, namely that an

authentic Jew is a person with spiritual independence, free will and adaptability.

黑山派“投射诗”的反叛与创新

内容提要:20世纪诗歌史上,以T. S.艾略特、J. C.兰瑟姆等诗人为代表的学院派

诗风占据重要地位,被作为诗歌品质判断标准的权威与规范。二战后,黑山派作为

第一个反学院派诗歌团体,以查尔斯·奥尔森、罗伯特·克里利、黛尼丝·莱弗托芙

等诗人为代表,对学院派诗风发起质疑与挑战。黑山派对学院派的反叛与创新具体

体现在诗歌内容、诗歌形式及诗歌情感三个方面。本论文立足诗歌文本,探究黑山

派“投射诗”对学院派诗学观念的反叛与创新,旨在拓展黑山派诗歌的研究维度,为

深入理解并把握20世纪美国诗歌流派思潮及其走向提供新路径。

Title: The Rebellion and Innovation of Projective Verse of the Black Mountain

School

ABSTRACT: Throughout the history of 20 th -century poetry, the style of academ-

icism represented by poets such as T. S. Eliot and J. C. Ransom was honored as the au-

thoritative norm for evaluating poetry. After the Second World War, the Black Mountain

School, the first poetry group espousing anti-academicism, represented by poets such

as Charles Olson, Robert Creeley, and Denise Levertov, issued a challenge to academi-

cism. The rebellion and innovation of the Black Mountain School is embodied in three

aspects: content, form and emotion of poetry. Based on a close reading of poetic texts,

this article explores how the projective verse of the Black Mountain School subverted

and transcended academicism. It aims to extend the research scope of current study on the

poetics of the Black Mountain School, and provide a new understanding of 20 th -century

American poetry movements.

《漂浮的世界》中的家、旅行与(不)流动

内容提要:辛西娅·角畑的作品《漂浮的世界》,呈现了家、旅行与工作的主题与

意象,这三个主题皆凸显了(不)流动的议题。小说呈现的旅行与工作之关联,两者

皆具有流动意涵 — 前者是地域性的流动,而后者则是社会阶级的流动。然而,小

说中的旅行与工作往往也意味着无法流动,与家的不稳定性有着一定的关联。换言

之,藉由分析小说中的家、旅行与工作等主题与意象,本文希冀凸显隐藏在文本底层

的另一根本议题,即20世纪中期、二次大战后日裔美国人所面临(不)流动的问题。

Title: Home, Travel and (Im)mobility in Cynthia Kadohata’s The Floating World

ABSTRACT: Cynthia Kadohata’s The Floating World explores the issues of home,

travel, and travail, all of which involve the idea of (im)mobility. Ideas of travel and travail

are intertwined with each other. The former involves geographical, territorial mobility

while the latter leads to social mobility. Nevertheless, both are implicated in the economy

of immobility and relate to the instability of home in the novel. By analyzing the ideas and

images of home, travel and travail, this article intends to foreground the underlying issue:

the problem of (im)mobility, confronted by Japanese Americans in postwar America in

the mid-twentieth century.

《黑人的开心馆》:私刑书写与身体政治

内容提要:阿德里安娜·肯尼迪的《黑人的开心馆》将萨拉及其父亲之死转化为

私刑的历史隐喻,以影射白人社会对非裔美国人持续施加的身体政治。该剧利用萨

拉与其四个“自我”,意指“私刑”在美国社会得以实施的多重深层原因,进而揭示私

刑蕴含的荒谬性。而通过将萨拉及其父亲遭受“私刑”的创伤经历纳入整个非裔美

国民族的创伤记忆,该剧的私刑书写表明,萨拉的疯癫和死亡表征了非裔美国身体

的抵抗力量,能消解“凝视”机制下非裔美国人的自我仇恨及治愈历史的创伤,从而

“打破美国身体政治的幻想”,最终构建起全新的非裔美国主体。

Title: Writing Lynching and Body Politics in Funnyhouse of a Negro

ABSTRACT: By envisioning the death of Sarah and her father as a historical met-

aphor for lynching, Adrienne Kennedy’s Funnyhouse of a Negro alludes to the body pol-

itics that American whites persistently impose on African Americans. Sarah and her four

“selves” in this play signify the multiple wrongs lynching enacted in American society.

With Sara and her father’s traumatic experiences of lynching incorporated into the collec-

tive memory of all African Americans, the lynching written in the play shows that Sarah’s

madness and death, which represents the power of resistance within the African American

body, can eliminate self-hatred through the gaze and heal historical traumas, thus con-

structing African American subjectivity by way of “shattering the illusion of American

body politics”.

跨国阈限空间

— 论《梦回古巴》中的“革命”与“流亡”书写

内容提要:以阈限场域为切入点审视文本中处于中间状态的人物及其情节与环

境的过渡性转换具有文化意味和审美价值。在《梦回古巴》中,加西亚聚焦于“革

命”与“流亡”,于四个层级上塑造了隐式和显式两种阈限空间,在跨国语境中将阈限

动态刻入对异向政治文化领域的僭越,进而将分歧性的规范系统和代码凝聚在一起。

通过再现一个交织着三代女性角色内外记忆的阈限空间,加西亚理解、过滤并重绘

了一幅古巴历史的卷帙,寻求以新的话语权和可能的中间身份来弥合古巴与其流亡

者间的政治裂痕和文化分歧。

Title: Transnational Liminal Space: On the Writing of Revolution and Exile in

Dreaming in Cuban

ABSTRACT: The mapping of cultural and aesthetic liminal terrain offers a means

for interpreting the characters’ frequent in-between conditions and abundant transitions

in plot and setting. In Dreaming in Cuban, Cristina García presents liminal space both

implicitly and explicitly on four levels by focusing on “revolution” and “exile”, and thus

transnationally inscribes the liminal dynamics into a transgression of different fields of po-

litical culture, and into a condensation of divergent normative systems and codes. Through

the liminal space that intersects the internal and social memories of the three-generations

of female characters, García sees, filters and remaps a picture of Cuban history, seeking to

bridge political rifts and cultural divisions between Cuba and its exiles in a new discursive

power and the possibility of identity in-between.

战争创伤著称的女作家。通过对英国社会各阶层在一战、二战期间以及战后的心灵

创伤的书写,巴克展现了一个独特的创伤世界,审视了战争蹂躏下的英国在文化、社

会、家庭等方面存在的诸多问题。她的作品暗示了个体创伤记忆将最终成为一个民

族的集体创伤记忆,并且无法被历史所抹去。本文将从历史书写、创伤记忆以及创

伤传递这几个视角来分析巴克战争小说中的战争创伤叙事。

Title: On the Trauma Narrative in Pat Barker’s War Novels

ABSTRACT: Pat Barker, an important contemporary British novelist, is one of

the very few women writers who are famous for writing about war-engendered trauma.

Through depicting the trauma from WWI, WWII and the post-war period as experienced

by British people from different walks of life, Barker exposes a unique traumatic world

and surveys the many problems tied to culture, society and family in war-ravaged Britain.

Her novels suggest that individual traumatic memory will eventually evolve into collec-

tive traumatic memories of a nation, which cannot be erased by history. This article will

explore the narrative of war-induced trauma in Barker’s war novels from the perspective

of historical writing, traumatic memory and transmission of trauma.

“一部自己的《圣经》”、一个“异托邦”

— 珍妮特·温特森《橘子不是唯一的水果》的另类空间解读

内容提要:当代英国著名作家珍妮特·温特森以其处女作《橘子不是唯一的水

果》一举成名。作者将《圣经》作为基础文本纳入小说中,同时又对其作为权力话语

的权威性进行挑战和颠覆,书写了“一部自己的《圣经》”。这部温特森“自己的《圣

经》”通过童话、传说、梦幻等各种奇幻故事的插入与并置,形成奇幻叙事对现实叙事

的多重干预和颠覆,冲击了我们对于“小说”这一概念的认知,并构建出一个包容差

异和多样性的奇妙的另类异托邦。这是《橘子》从同时代作品中脱颖而出、一举成功

的重要因素。

Title: “A Bible of My Own”, a Heterotopia: On the Other Space in Jeanette Winter-

son’s Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit

ABSTRACT: Contemporary British writer Jeanette Winterson rose to fame over-

night for her debut book Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit. In this novel, Winterson uses

the Bible as a foundational text while challenging its authority as a discourse of power,

thus writing “a Bible of My [Her] Own.” This “Bible of My [Her] Own” incorporates

and juxtaposes fantastic stories such as fairy tales, legends, dreams and hallucinations,

thus making repeated intervention in the realistic narrative. It impacts greatly on our un-

derstanding of the “novel,” and builds a wonderful heterotopia that embraces difference

and diversity. This could be one vital reason behind the book’s immediate success.

论布莱恩·卡斯特罗跨国写作中的嗅觉景观

内容提要:在澳大利亚华裔作家中,布莱恩·卡斯特罗是得到广泛认可的跨国

写作先行者。《候鸟》和《中国之后》是卡斯特罗早期最著名的两部作品,两部作品

都聚焦不同时期澳大利亚中国移民的生活,揭示了主人公从民族身份向跨国身份过

渡过程中的挣扎。在20世纪末以来的跨国转向和跨学科转向趋势下,两部作品中地

理空间、心理空间变化和主人公身份转换之间的关系值得重新思考。本文采用人类

学中研究身份过渡状态的阈限理论作为分析工具,从社会学中的一个感官空间概念

“嗅觉景观”(嗅景)入手,通过展现这两部作品中嗅景对种族与阶级、虚构与现实、

性欲和创造欲之间界限的渗透与侵蚀,探究嗅景的阈限性以及这种阈限性嗅景所暗

示的跨文化身份前景。

Title: Transgressive and Creative Liminal Smellscape in Brian Castro’s Transnation-

al Writing

ABSTRACT: Among Chinese-Australian writers, Brian Castro is the most widely

recognized pioneer of transnational writing. Birds of Passage and After China are Cas-

tro’s two earliest works, both of which describe Chinese migrants’ lives in Australia and

reveal the struggle the protagonists experience in the process of transforming from a na-

tional identity to a transnational one. Studies of the transnational turn of literature have

run parallel with the increasing application of interdisciplinary approaches to transnational

literature since the end of the 20th century. In this context, this article focuses on the rela-

tionship between changes of geographical space, disruption of mental space and identity

transformation, using the theory of liminality, an analytical framework originally from

anthropology, which examines the in-between state during identity transition, and the

concept of sensory space—smellscape—from sociology, to explore why the smellscapes

in these two works can be treated as liminality and what kind of transnational identity the

liminal smellscapes envision with their transgressive power that can dismantle the rigid

boundary between race and class, between fantasy and reality, as well as between the sex-

ual and creative desires.

论吉奥诺乡土小说的物之力与水叙事

内容提要:法国作家让·吉奥诺笔下,水既是不可或缺的自然元素,也是必不可

少的文学角色。无论具以何种性状的水,都奔腾着不息的生命张力,这种“物之力”

施加于其他自然元素与人类,构成与自然、文化或社会的互动。该互动性正是对物

质的本能性施事之力的诠释,复魅的自然以属人的性格特质潜在地对抗人类中心主

义。由具有叙事能力的故事性物质构成的物质世界中,水具有言语表达力。吉奥诺

以乡土小说谱就出一首意蕴深幽的生态赞歌,与物质生态批评强调的物质施事性和

叙事性的理论倾向形成种种默契,可见吉奥诺生态思想的超前性。

Title: The Power of Things and Water Narratives in Giono’s Native Novels

ABSTRACT: In the literary works of French writer Jean Giono, water as an in-

dispensable natural element plays an essential literary role. No matter what the water’s

configuration is, it is full of life. The “power-thing” applies to other natural elements and

human beings, and thus constitutes the intra-action between nature and culture or soci-

ety. This intra-action explains matter’s agency. Re-enchanted nature possesses a person’s

characteristics, a potential force against anthropocentrism. In the material world consist-

ing of storied matter with narrative ability, water has expressivity. Giono’s native novels

compose an ecological hymn that tacitly comprehends a theoretical tendency toward mat-

ter’s agency, and narrativity as emphasized by material ecocriticism, thus demonstrating

the pioneering nature of Giono’s ecological thought.

— 论向田邦子《隔壁的女人》

内容提要:日本昭和时代著名女作家、直木文学奖得主向田邦子擅长运用细腻

的笔触和多元的叙事手法来呈现日本家庭伦理情境和个体伦理选择过程。向田晚期

代表作《隔壁的女人》是从探讨大家庭家族伦理情境向关注小家庭个体伦理思考过

渡的重要作品。小说把江户时代作家井原西鹤的《好色五人女》纳入叙事时间建构,

实现历史和现实相同主题事件的共时性叙述,使得主人公幸子的思想自由穿越时空,

在历史的关照下走上实现自身伦理意识成长的道路。小说在赋予空间无时性特征的

同时,伴随精神和肉体在家宅空间、异托邦、 “圣化”家宅空间的位移,幸子陷入妻子

和情人伦理身份选择的伦理两难之中,幸子摆脱伦理困境的关键在于空间的生产、

异化及“圣化”,其伦理意识在此过程中逐渐觉醒。最终伴随异托邦的褪色和理性意

志的强化,实现了伦理秩序的重构,最终回归家庭且找到自我认同的女性独立和幸

福,作品的道德指引和教诲功能也得以实现。

Title: Temporal Construction, Spatial Representation and Ethical Choice: On Muko-

da Kuniko’s Woman Next Door

ABSTRACT: Mukoda Kuniko, a well-known female writer of the Showa period in

Japan and winner of the Naoki Prize for Literature, is known for her delicate and diverse

narrative techniques, her interrogation of ethics on an individual level and within the Japa-

nese familial structure. The novel Woman Next Door is one of Mukoda’s late masterpiec-

es, featuring a transition of focus from family ethics to individual ethical reflection. The

novel incorporates Ihara Saikaku’s Five Women Who Loved Love within its narrative time,

realizing asynchronistic narration of the same subject matter in history and reality, so that

the protagonist Sachiko’s thoughts travel across time and space, exploring her ethical

consciousness in the context of history. The novel imbues space with a timeless character.

Within shifting spiritual and physical domestic spaces, heterotopias, and the “sanctified”

domestic space, Sachiko encounters the ethical dilemma of choosing an identity as either

wife or lover. The key to her escape lies in the production, heterization and sanctification

of space. Eventually, with the fading of the heterotopias and the strengthening of the ra-

tional will, an ethical order is reestablished. Sachiko finally returns to the family and finds

her identity in women’s independence and happiness, thus realizing the work’s education-

al function as an ethical guide.

内容提要:村上文学的叙事特质是通过形象化的比喻,定义难以言语化的、深埋

在人类记忆古层的“集体无意识”,探讨身处混沌中的现代人如何实现“灵魂”世界

的软着陆问题。他将体制与国民问题比喻为“墙壁与鸡蛋”,且辩证地表现了二者之

间的“共犯关系”。“地下二层”的世界认知,构筑了现代人多元并存的“灵魂”世界。

但这些叙事功能的完成,必须有中间物“鳗鱼说”的参与,它就像架起通往生与死、

现实与异界两极世界的桥梁。三者有时隔断有时融合,共同构建了“真实”与“虚

构”并置的多元世界。

Title: A Pluralistic World with “Truth” and “Fiction” Coexisting: On the “Narrative

Characteristics” of Haruki Murakami’s Literature

ABSTRACT: A key characteristic of Murakami’s narratives is his concern with

defining the unspeakable “collective unconsciousness” buried deep in ancient human

memory through metaphors. His work discusses how modern people living in chaos can

softly land on a spiritual world. He likens the problem of the state and the people to that

of a “wall” and an“egg”, dialectically demonstrating their complicity. The world of “the

second floor underground” builds up to a pluralistic “spiritual” world of modern people.

However, the completion of these narrative functions must involve the intermediate “idea

of eels”, which functions like a bridge between the two worlds: life and death, reality and

the alien land. The above three aspects sometimes separate from but sometimes merge

with each other, together constructing a pluralistic world with “truth” and “fiction” coex-

isting.

Title: Imaginary Vision: Exotic Image and Cultural Positioning in White Tiger

ABSTRACT: White Tiger, which won the Booker Award in 2008, is Aravind Adiga’s

masterpiece and a must-read for an understanding of contemporary India. In order to ob-

serve India’s current social and international situation, the author creates both a western

image representing advanced civilization and an oriental image advancing with the times

in White Tiger. However, Adiga does not write about other countries with a dualistic atti-

tude, and behind the contradictory ideas and complex positions, he strategically constructs

the cultural image of other countries through imaginary means in order to locate India’s

cultural reality. By highlighting the differences between Indian nations, Adiga seeks to

write a historical exploration of seeking cultural roots and spiritual reconstruction.

的感受和行为出发,敏锐地捕捉到了边缘个体的独特体验和被忽视的真实感受,冷

峻地书写着个体不确定的生存处境。本文以身体美学为切入点,探寻“真实自我”这

Title: Existence and “True Self ” in Peter Handke’s On the Quintet

ABSTRACT: Spanning 25 years in its creation, Peter Handke’s On the Quintet

exemplifies Handke’s style, persistence and his concern with the theme of “self-explora-

tion”. Beginning with bodily feelings and behavior, On the Quintet acutely captures the

unique experience of marginalized individuals and feelings in its description of individu-

als’ uncertain living situations. This article takes bodily aesthetics as the starting point to

explore the “eternal theme” of “real self ”. Focusing on space and individual growth, this

article broaches an inquiry into the work’s key themes, understanding the “self ” in the

concrete manifestation of activities undertaken for human survival, attends to the state and

development of individual “being”, and thereby constructs a new relation between the self

and the world.

内容提要:关于多丽丝·莱辛的《好邻居日记》,现有研究在“老龄主题”和“化

名出版”两条轨道上并行,很少讨论两者间的联系。实际上,在1984年以本名再版

的序言中,莱辛已点明连接两者的关键词: “联想与标签的囚笼”。作品内部文本揭

示,老龄个体所面临的生活困境与资本主义社会体系中“老龄”标签背后对于老龄

人群的种种预设紧密相关。而化名出版实验则通过测试读者对于“简·萨默斯”和

“多丽丝·莱辛”两位作家同一作品的不同反馈,以外部实践佐证了《日记》内部文

本中对老龄困境症结的判断,是《日记》主题和意义的有机组成。

Title: “That Cage of Associations and Labels”: The Diary of a Good Neighbour, Old

Age, and Writing under a Pseudonym

ABSTRACT: Existing studies on Doris Lessing’s The Diary of a Good Neighbour

focus either on its theme of old age or the author’s decision to publish it under a pseud-

onym, but rarely discuss the relationship between the two. In fact, in the preface to the

1984 edition, published under her own name, Lessing has already pointed out that what

connects them is “that cage of associations and labels”. While the narrative within the Di-

ary reveals that the difficulties old people have to confront are often the result of assump-

tions associated with the label of “old age”, Lessing’s experiment with publication under a

pseudonym, by testing the different reactions to the same work published under different

names, proves the accuracy of her analysis, making the experiment an integral component

of the theme of the Diary.

On Gerard Delanty’s Community

ABSTRACT: Community, written by British scholar Gerard Delanty, is one of the

most systematic introductions to and commentary on community theory in western coun-

tries. It maps more than one hundred kinds of concepts of “community” from such per-

spectives as philosophy, sociology, anthropology, religion, culture, and literature, showing

readers a panoramic view of more than two thousand years of community theories in the

western world. This paper summarizes the book’s distinct features and offers a critical

commentary on the book’s ideas. It also endeavors to build a bridge between the concept

of community in sociology (politics) and literary criticism. It argues for the feasibility of

constructing “community literature” as a literary genre.

内容提要:当代美国著名文化批评先驱莱斯利·费德勒的文化批评主要围绕

“种族”与“性别”两词展开。其文化批评表现出的种族观念与性别意识主要体现在

三方面:他关注美国文学作品中的“外人” — 有色人种、少数族裔与女性等边缘群

体;他主张 “越界”,发掘了美国文学作品中跨种族的男性情谊;他坚持人本主义,发

展并运用神话批评,注重作品中人物表现的欲望、本能、潜意识等感性存在形式,并

结合社会、历史的分析。他的种族观念与性别意识表达了他冀图种族间与同性间跨

越界线、实现融合、成为“新变体”的后人文主义社会构想,以实现对人的价值关怀。

Title: Race and Gender in Leslie Fiedler’s Cultural Criticism

ABSTRACT: The work of the famous contemporary American cultural critic,

Leslie Fiedler, centers around two key terms: “race” and “gender”. Fiedler’s views of race

and gender in his cultural criticism involve three key aspects. Firstly, he focuses on the

“outsiders” in American literary works; in other words, he studies borderline figures such

as people of color, minorities and women. Secondly, he champions “crossing the border”,

and explores and analyzes interracial homoerotic love in American literature. Finally, he

adheres to humanism by applying social and historical research in combination with an

examination of myth to analyze the characters’ desires, instincts, subconscious thoughts

and other forms of perceptual existence. Fiedler’s views of race and gender express his

post-human social vision that people should cross the border, close the gap and fuse into

“new mutants” in order to realize the humanistic values.

哲学家和政治思想家。戈登以世界视野从现象学视角批判性地解读笛卡尔、萨特等

白人思想家和W. E. B. 杜波依斯、弗朗兹·法农等美国和法国非裔思想家的思想观

点,把关于种族、种族主义和现代性的理论质询延伸至对人之为人的意义,知识与现

实、理性与合理化之间的关系,个体与社会、自我与他者之间的联系与矛盾等一系列

本体论、认识论和存在论问题的反思。戈登的理论质询和反思之所以具有丰富的建

构性和阐释力,主要因为他的文化批评理论形成了一个以“种族解构 — 知识去殖

民 — 存在批评”为主轴的思想体系,为世界非洲流散思想的理论化发展作出重要

Title: Race, Knowledge and Existence: The Contemporary African-American Critic

Lewis Gordon’s Cultural Criticism

ABSTRACT: Lewis R. Gordon is a contemporary African-American literary and

cultural critic, philosopher and political thinker of great international influence. As a

cosmopolitan cultural critic, he has interpreted the theories of white thinkers such as

Descartes and Sartre, and of African-American thinkers such as W. E. B. Dubois, as well

as African-French thinkers such as Frantz Fanon. He has extended the interrogation on

race, racism and modernity to the reflection on a set of ontological, epistemological and

existential questions, involving the meaning of being a human; the relationship between

knowledge and reality, reason and rationalization; the connection and contradiction be-

tween individual and community, the self and the other. Gordon’s theoretical interrogation

and examination, richly constructive, has a strong interpretative force, because his cultural

criticism has developed into a thought system with the “deconstruction of race — decol-

onization of knowledge — existential criticism” as its principal axis, making a signif-

icant contribution to advancing Africana thought across the world. Gordon’s practice of

literary and cultural criticism involves a deepening theoretical elaboration which is, ulti-

mately, the kernel of his African-American phenomenology and existential philosophy.

Title: Animal Narrative in Jesmyn Ward’s Salvage the Bones

ABSTRACT: “Animal” is a key word in the award-winning novel Salvage the

Bones, which recounts the plight and survival of a black family and their dogs when con-

fronted with Hurricane Katrina. The African American writer Jesmyn Ward presents the

communal otherness that animals and black people suffer due to the collusion between

speciesism and racism. Furthermore, the novel initiates a subversion of speciesism, inval-

idating racialised discourse, establishing a cross-species affect and calling for a cross-ra-

cial affect. In this sense, Ward’s interrogation of and attack on post-racial discourse finds

its full expression in the animal narrative of Salvage the Bones.

Title: Approaching the Multilayered Narrative Voices in Margaret Drabble’s The

Red Queen

ABSTRACT: While her earlier work is more realist and traditional, the British author

Margaret Drabble’s later writing demonstrates a postmodern turn. Her work in the new

millennium are informed by her attention to globalization and experimental postmod-

ern meta-narrative. The Red Queen establishes a dialogue between the past and present,

human and spirit, through a variety of narrators and overlapping, multilayered narrative

voices. The polyphonic narrative voices contribute to a regeneration of meanings, and a

deepening of the textual connotations and tensions. In this manner, the fiction draws read-

ers’ attention to such universal, philosophical questions of mankind as life and suffering

regardless of time.

— 论哈维尔·塞尔卡斯《骗子》中的历史叙事与谎言

内容提要:获得2019年“行星奖”的作家哈维尔·塞尔卡斯是西班牙“内战”后

“第三代”作家代表。长篇小说《骗子》出版于2014年,延续其“非虚构”创作风格,

主要讲述西班牙著名骗子恩里克·马尔科的人生经历与心路历程。虽然《骗子》对

个人经历的关注在一定程度上呼应当代西班牙的历史回忆热潮与后现代语境下历史

叙事转向个体化的趋势,但塞尔卡斯对谎言的社会接受机制以及大历史与个人记忆

矛盾关系的辩证思考,体现出他身处回忆热潮中仍保持冷静与理智,对被政治滥用

的回忆话语保持警惕。

Title: Questioning Personal Memory: On Historical Narratives and Lies in Javier

Cercas’s The Imposter

ABSTRACT: Javier Cercas, a writer who won the Planet Award in 2019, is a repre-

sentative of the “Third Generation” of writers after the Spanish Civil War. His novel The

Impostor, published in 2014, continues his “non-fiction” writing style, centering on the

life and thought of a famous Spanish liar, Enric Marco. Although the attention to personal

experience in The Impostor could be partly explained by the increasing fascination with

historical memory in contemporary Spain and the postmodern trend toward individual his-

torical narrative, Cercas is keenly aware of the political abuse of memory. This awareness

is shown in his dialectical thinking on how lies operate as a social acceptance mechanism

and the contradictory relationship between grand history and individual personal memory.
