Outpost: Infinity Siege Trailer Reveals Release Window For Ambitious FPS

Team Ranger and Lightning Games have released a brand new Outpost: Infinity Siege trailer, showing off the ambitious FPS action we can expect from the game. The trailer also reveals a release window of Q3 2023, although we don't have any more specific information than that just yet.

Outpost: Infinity Siege is promising a unique hybrid gameplay blend of RTS, first-person shooter, and tower defense, with a healthy injection of RPG elements in the form of upgrades and buffs for your weapons, too. You'll be building and defending an outpost against hostile creatures, relying on a mixture of your defenses and your own skill with weaponry to deter them. From the looks of the trailer, you'll have access to modular base-building, so you can attach turrets, towers, and other structures wherever you find the space. Once you've placed them, the action will switch seamlessly to ground warfare, where you'll be battling your enemies alongside the towers you've just built.

As if that wasn't enough, you'll also be given the chance to pilot a giant mech to battle the impressively massive hordes that Outpost: Infinity Siege will throw your way. You'll also have access to traversal elements like jump pads, as well as strategic maneuvers like kicking explosive barrels at your enemies to reposition them before you blow them to kingdom come.

The main gameplay mode on offer will let you explore various different maps across several difficulty levels, so you can tailor the experience to your liking. Co-op gameplay will also be supported; there will be an Endless mode in which you and your friends can see how long you're able to last against huge waves of enemies.

We've seen some pretty ambitious attempts to blend tower defense gameplay with other genres, but Outpost: Infinity Siege looks like it might just be able to pull it off.
