一.should

should--- 1.Sb ought to do sth 

例句：

我们应该采取措施来解决这一问题。

普通：We should take measures to settle the problem.

高级：We ought to take measures to settle the problem.

should-2.Sb be supposed to do sth 

例句：青少年应该有社会责任感。

普通：Teenagers should have a sense of social responsibility.

高级： Teenagers are supposed to have a sense of social responsibility.

should-3. It is beneficial for you to do sth （很委婉）

体会下面两句话，哪句话听了更舒服？

1.你应该定期锻炼和均衡饮食

You should do exercise regularly and keep a balanced diet.

2.定期锻炼和均衡饮食对你很有益处

It is beneficial for you to do exercise regularly and keep a balanced diet.

should-4. If I were you, I would do sth 

如果我是你，我就会怎么做；(同样是委婉)

请对比下面两句话，体会哪句话更委婉

1.你应该给他道歉。

You should make an apology to him.

2.如果我是你，我会给他道歉。

If I were you, I would make an apology to him.

should-.5-It is high time that sb did sth 真的到了某人应该做某事的时候了(起强调作用)

请对比下面两句话，看哪句更引起人的重视。

1.我们应该充分利用时间来学习它。

We should make full use of time to study it.

2.是时候充分利用时间来学习它了。

It is high time that we made full use of time to study it.

二. important

important—1.crucial ；重要的

双语例句：

劳逸结合很重要。

It is crucial for us to combine work with pleasure.

important—2.significant ；重要的、值得注意的；

例句：弘扬中华传统文化有着重要意义。

Promoting traditional Chinese culture is significant.

important—3 indispensable ；不可替代的；（具体说明有多重要）

例句：

从这次采摘活动中学到的经验对我来说很重要

Experience learned from the  fruit-picking activity is important.

从这次采摘活动中学到的经验对我来说是不可替代的.

Experience learned from the  fruit-picking activity is indispensable.(indispensable使得重要的氛围感瞬间就拉满了，有木有！)

三.分析利弊的表达：普通：

On the one hand, and on the other hand…高级替换1：

Encouragingly,… Discouragingly, …

鼓舞人心的是…，令人泄气的是…

例句：鼓舞人心的是，大多数的人都支持这个政策。令人泄气的是，有一些人认为这个政策毫无益处，只会产生负面影响。

Encouragingly, the majority of people are in favor of the policy. Dis encouragingly, sone people think that it is useless and will only bring about some side effects.（副词尤为吸睛，要多用哦！）

高级替换2On the bright side, … on the dark side

（bright side：好的一面，dark side：缺点）例句：

从好的一面看，带手机进课堂可以使得我们很方便的查询信息，获取大量的知识。而从坏的一面看，它会使得很多自控力弱的学生沉迷于手机游戏。

On the bright side, bringing mobile phone makes it much convenient for us to search for information and acquire abundant knowledge, while on the dark side, it will cause students with poor self-control to be addicted to mobile games.

高级表达3.

…prove a boon to… nonetheless, the downsides of it were laid bare as days slid away. （boon指裨益，有用之物；downside缺点，替换disadvantage）

…对人们来说大有裨益，但其缺点也日渐显现。

例句：

人工智能对人们来说大有裨益，但其缺点也日渐展现。

Artificial intelligence proves a boon to human beings. Nonetheless, the downsides of it were laid bare as days slid away.
