英语表达面积的方法

提到面积，我们的第一反应会是area这个词。但是除了知道这个词之外，我们还需要知道英语语言习惯上是如何表达面积的。下面说说面积的各种表达方法。

1) 使用单词area, spaceThe area of this restaurant is 3,400 square feet. 这个餐馆占地面积为3400平方英尺。What is the area of the second triangle. 第二个三角形的面积是多少？China is a land with an area of 9,600,000 square kilometers. 中国是一个国土面积960平方公里的国家。The seating space of the new theatre is 2,500 square meters. 新剧院的设座面积为2500平方米。

2) 使用动词 coverThe city covered ten square miles. 这个城市面积有10平方英里。

[注}使用cover时，通常用于很大的面积。

3) in areaThe garden is about 200 square metres in area. 这个花园的面积大约是200平方米。The kitchen is 12 square metres in area. 厨房的面积是12平方米。

4) has an area of..., has a space ofThe little island has an area of less than 0.5 square kilometers. 这个小岛的面积不足0.5平方公里。 If a cube has a total surface area of 96 square centimeters, what is its volume？如果一个立方体的总表面积为96平方厘米，请问总体积是多少？Cylinder B has a cross-sectional area of 30 square centimeters. 圆柱B横断面积有30平方厘米。The new library has a floor space of 18,000 square meters. 新图书馆的使用面积是18000平方米。

5) cover an area of...The forest covers an area of 2,000 square kilometers. 这片森林覆盖面积达2000平方公里。

6) 如果通过长宽来表达面积的话，可以参见以下例句：The steel plate measures three by two meters. 钢盘的面积为3×2米。She live in a small room 5 by 6 meters. 她住在一间只有5×6米的小房间里。（这里5 by 6 meters为后置定语修饰room。)The measurements of the room are 10 by 15 feet. 这个房间的面积为10×15英尺。The oil field itself has dimensions of roughly 12km by 3km. 油田面积约为12×3公里。The steel plate is thee meters in length and two meters in width. 钢盘的面积为3×2米。
