在《Starboy》發行五年的週年紀念日時，The Weeknd 釋出了〈Die For You〉的音樂錄影帶，伴隨音樂錄影帶的發行以及歌曲本身在 TikTok 上日漸上漲的流量，時隔六年， 〈Die For You〉衝進告示牌百大單曲榜前二十名，並傳出近期也剛發行新專輯《SOS》的 SZA 將參與〈Die For You〉混音版的演唱。

〈Die For You〉據傳是關於 The Weeknd 的模特兒前女友 Bella Hadid，歌曲發行時他們兩人剛分手沒多久，而 The Weeknd 在那之後夜創作了不少被認為是關於這段舊情的音樂，包括專輯《After Hours》中的冠軍單曲〈Heartless〉。
