Abstract

Taking

the

treatment

of

low

carbon

source

wastewater

in

a

wastewater

treatment

plant

in

Guangzhou

as

an

example

the

optimum

conditions

of

the

improved

AAO

process

in

the

sub

tropical

monsoon

climate

area

south

of

the

Tropic

of

Cancer

under

the

condition

of

low

carbon

source

water

inflow

were

discussed.

On

the

premise

of

avoi-

ding

additional

carbon

source

as

far

as

possible

the

normal

treatment

effect

could

be

ensured

by

optimizing

the

process.

The

improved

A

2

/O

process

with

multi

point

water

inflow

had

achieved

good

nitrogen

and

phosphorus

re-

moval

effect

which

showed

that

adding

a

pre

anoxic

tank

in

front

of

the

traditional

A

2

/O

anaerobic

tank

and

multi

point

inflow

of

pretreated

wastewater

into

the

biochemical

tank

could

optimize

the

biological

nitrogen

and

phos-

phorus

removal

effect

under

low

carbon

source

conditions.

The

results

showed

that

when

the

sludge

age

was

19

days

the

internal

reflux

rate

was

130

%

and

the

external

reflux

rate

was

80

%

the

effluent

could

reach

the

standard

stably.

The

test

results

has

provided

reference

for

the

operation

of

wastewater

treatment

plants

using

improved

AAO

process

in

plateau

environment

and

for

the

upgrading

design

of

wastewater

treatment

plants

with

low

carbon

source.
