I regret staying at this hotel and paying so much for such a bad stay and experience. There was a stron, foul, marijuana stench permeating the whole second floor corridor. It was so bad, My wife had to cover her nose whenever we went out or came back in, as soon as we entered the hallway. I tried to put up with it, but by the 4th night, hearing my wife complain about it, I went and had us moved to another floor.
In the rooms, the mattress was so hard, I left with a bad back pain after sleeping there six nights. The shower was horribly small for a guy my size (6'2, 230 lbs.), and it being a tub style shower, it was also hard (and dangerous) to get out of.
We tried the roof bar, but with a limited menu selection and 25 Euros for a glass of wine, we opted not to stay and left. So, next time we travel to Paris, if ever, we will not be staying at this hotel at all!
But wait! The worst of it all, was that at the time I made the reservation online, one of the deciding factors was that the hotel listed an airport shuttle as one of its amenities. So, being cost-conscious, of course I liked that! But imagine the disappointment when just before our flight, we were told they do not provide an airport shuttle and that it would cost us 60 euros for a one way trip! And if we used their "recommended partner", it was going to be 130 euros one way! Can anyone say rip off?
I ended up paying over 12 euros each, to ride the RER to the hotel. I then bought the Navigo easy card for the week for both of us, at a cost of 70 euros. The thing is, you will not be lugging all your luggage up and down stairs when you want to catch your flight home!
So, our dream trip turned into a nightmare, because of all this, and the fact that French people are just plain rude and quazi-hostile. I will never return! I am so happy to be back home in the U.S.A.!! God bless America!
