If those soccer coloring pages are piling up, try these affordable and unique crafts. 1. Soccer Ball InitialsAll that’s needed for this super easy craft is some cardboard, coloring pages, and a ruler to trace initials! Once the youngsters have colored soccer balls from several pages, they should trace and cut out their initials from cardboard. Using a pattern, or an abstract collage style, the coloring pages can be used to laminate the letters. When finished, bunches of black-and-white pom-poms should be glued to both sides of the cutout’s base, which will make the letters stand on their own for fun decoration. 2. A Unique and Colorful Doorknob OrnamentHave the youngsters decorate an ordinary paper plate by drawing a red border around its circumference, on which black-and-white pom-poms can be glued. The children can place their soccer page cutouts inside this fancy “frame” with invisible glue. Gold paper streamers can then be attached at the bottom of the plate, and a string attached at the top to hang on a doorknob or bedroom door. 3. Design an Unusual Picture FrameIf you like displaying your child’s soccer game photos, why not let him or her make an innovative, soccer-themed photo frame? Begin with black posterboard, and have your youngster cut out soccer-shaped holes through which you can display the photos. The spaces in between can be decorated with cutouts from the finished soccer coloring pages, whether soccer balls or other scenes from this lively game. At the top, the child can draw a soccer ball, and inside write, “Eat, Sleep, Play Soccer” for a cute finishing touch. 4. Soccer-Themed CoastersTo make these cute and practical coasters, give your youngster several pieces of thin corkboard on which to trace coaster-size circles. Once these are cut out, they can be laminated with cutouts from the finished coloring pages. Krazy glue works best for this. When a few coats of acrylic spray are added to the top, these coasters will be surprisingly durable. For fun, have your youngster sign his or her name on the coaster’s underside! 5. A Classroom Soccer FieldFor this fun classroom craft, have the students work in groups of five or six. Give each group a large piece of green poster board on which they can draw a simple soccer field. When they have finished cutting out soccer players and soccer balls from their pages, they can add these to the poster to create their own scene. The finished crafts can be hung around the classroom for everyone to see! 6. Soccer Ball BannerThis engaging craft begins with each child coloring and cutting out a soccer player. Each child should then be given a white paper plate, which they can easily turn into a soccer ball by coloring black hexagons on its surface. The coloring page cutout should then be glued to the center of their “soccer balls.” When the paper plates are strung together, they become a fun classroom banner that can be displayed at the front of the room. 7. I Love SoccerIf your child loves soccer, this craft is a great way to convey that! Using white poster paper, have the youngster cut out the letters for the word “Love.” The “O” should be colored to look like a soccer ball. Glue the letters to green construction paper and cut them out, leaving a green border around each letter. Next, the letters should be strung together vertically, with black-and-white streamers hanging from the last letter. On the back, the child can write “I Love Soccer,” and this cute ornament can be displayed anywhere. 8. Make an Original Door MatMaking a welcome mat from a soccer theme coloring page is fun and easy. Use a piece of engineered wood, vinyl, or corkboard of the appropriate size, and laminate the top side with one or more soccer coloring pages. Make sure the coloring pages are sealed in contact paper first. Carpenter’s glue or rubber cement works best to attach the pages to the mat. Seal the finished work with several coats of acrylic spray, and the mat will last a long time! 9. Revive old Ping-Pong PaddlesIf your youngster has ping-pong paddles, sports helmets, or other items that need a facelift, use the finished soccer coloring pages to dress them up. Pages featuring soccer balls are perfect for ping-pong paddles, while sports helmets look cute with cutouts of soccer players. Invisible glue or craft glue typically works best for this craft, and the work should always be sealed in contact paper or acrylic spray. You’ll be surprised at how many items your child might want to embellish once he or she gets started! 10. Make a 3D OrnamentYour child will love displaying this soccer ball ornament anywhere! Begin with an ordinary white paper plate featuring a classic fringed edge. Using green Easter straw, create a bed of “grass” in its center. When your youngster has finished coloring the page, the character or soccer ball should be cut out and sealed in contact paper. It should then be glued to the Easter straw–and this will stick remarkably well–and a string added to the top so that this interesting, textured ornament can be hung up. |
