As we all know, sports classes are compulsory in Chinese universities, which serve as a kind of method to improve the quality of students’ health . However, it has stirred up a heated discussion among people as to whether it is a must for students in universities to take sports classes in university. In my view, sports classes should be compulsory at university because not only can it provide a platform for students to learn more physical skills and play an importance role in inspiring their interest in sports , but also it can do good to the health of students both physically and mentally, which certainly will exert great effect on students’ study.

In the first place, as sports classes are compulsory, students at university have to opt for one kind of sports in every semester and choices are based on their interest, which offers a good chance for students to learn what they are fond of and pick up new skills, such as playing tennis , playing tai chi and swimming and so on. We cannot emphasize the importance of learning new skills too much. Some students may argue that it’s schools that push them to do sports and that it’s just a form of education, which disobeys many students’ willing. As a result, their passions in sports classes fade away. However, this is a matter of their attitude. We will also come across many things that we may be unwilling to do in the society in the future. What we should do is to change our attitude and then accept the reality . Otherwise, we may become losers.

Secondly, spending two-class-time in doing sports every week, students can improve their physical health and strengthen their body , which ensures their study basically. As a study on physical fitness and health of students at universities in China shows, the quality of health of students are decreasing because students tend to do worse and worse in the physical examination and they are easier to get ill. Besides, according to a investigation, students rarely spend enough time doing exercise in their spare time. Therefore, it’s quite necessary for students at universities to have sports classes. Many students claim that it’s no use improving their health to only take two -class-time to practice every week and that it’s just a waste of time. However, it doesn’t mean that students just do exercises for only two classes every week for schools to set two lessons every week for the course. Actually, students need to do extra practice after classes. For example, students who learn to play basketball have to devote much time to practicing playing it in order to play it well and students who learn gymnastics also need practice after classes.

Thirdly, having sports classes every week, students can relax themselves after studying as busy as beaver and ease their pressure, which certainly improves the efficiency of study . Moreover, it’s well known that doing sports enable a person to be positive and ambitious, which is of great significance for students at university. It’s common that students often feel tired and sometimes have no motivation to study.

Consequently, sports classes play a very important part in making students relax physically and mentally, which can cheer students up so that they are able to regain passion of studying and study more efficiently. On the other hand, some students hold the idea that students put on more stress rather than get rid of it because they are much anxious about their grades of examination of sports classes. Nevertheless, examinations of sports classes are not so difficult to pass as students expect. Furthermore, if students feel stressed , they will spend more time practicing to achieve their goals and at the same time they can also keep fit.

In conclusion, students at university are obliged to have sports classes so that they have a good body condition to ensure their study and learn more new sports skills. Sports classes are essential parts of students’ life at university.

体育总结

约三个月的体育课即将结束。这是进入大学后第一学期的体育课。进入大学意味着进入新环境,相应类似的,这一学期的体育课也意味着帮助我们适应大学的生活,衔接高中与大学的过渡。

本学期体育课的主要内容分为三大部分:基础田径项目、武术――人大长拳的学习及体育与健康基础知识的介绍。在这三部分的学习与练习中,我也体会到了这学期体育课作为衔接的重要作用。

1、 田径项目

50米、立定跳远、实心球、800米,这四个重量级的项目首先给懒散了一个长假的我们一个下马威。经过高三一年的紧张备考,身体素质或多或少受到了影响;再加上长达三个月放松的假期,身体素质也没有通过基本的体育锻炼得到恢复。还记得第一节课,在仅仅慢跑了两圈了后,估测出的脉搏已达到了160,不禁让我很有危机感。另外。大学的体育课的长度延长至了90分钟,虽然这让我们的锻炼更加充分,但在初始阶段,体育活动对我们身体的负荷也相应的增大也令人有些吃不消。

虽然从小到大,我的学校对体育锻炼非常重视,也培养了我对体育锻炼的喜爱。还记得第一节课,回到久违的操场,我欢欣鼓舞的享受着在塑胶跑道上一步步跑的感觉。然而时间一长,身体素质差的限制渐渐显现出来了。于是悲剧的,连续三次课,课后的一周,我都在全身酸痛中度过,下楼、咳嗽、笑等等都成为最令我痛苦的动作。不过,心里想着,没事没事,肌肉再都紧张回来就好了。不出所料,很快,90分钟的体育锻炼不再是负担、不再导致后续的痛苦……

同时,这些测试的日子也天天的逼近,李立老师针对于这些测试的技巧性的练习也帮助我更高效地提高成绩,特别是我的弱项实心球。最终,这些测试的结果均基本达到了我高中的最好成绩。能在短短两个月内恢复身体素质,这与每周充分利用、科学锻炼的体育课时分不开的。

2、 人大长拳

比较幸运的是,我在高中曾学过几套武术动作。所以当老师演示自编的人大长拳时,许多似曾相识的动作令我很兴奋。武术基本功训练之刻苦、举手投足间展示出的精神气儿以及防身的作用都很吸引人。不过在短短一个月中,我们只能通过尽量多的练习,首先书记动作要领、慢慢领悟武术的精神气儿,尽量去贴近真正武术的感觉。我清楚无论在基本功是否扎实上,还是是否领悟精髓上,我们的成果远达不到要求,但这段练习的经历还是令我们很有收获的。

3、体育与健康知识

通过最后两节课两位老师的介绍,我们对体育与健康的相关知识有了大致的了解。对我来说,以下几方面对我的最大:

1、体育的作用:健身功能、娱乐功能、培养竞争意识

2、体育的动作要素:身体姿势、动作轨迹、动作时间、动作速率、动作力度(健美操和武术)、动作节奏

在我们学习武术时,我们并没有接触这些理论知识。于是,我们经常迷惑:

为什么尽管我们很努力地模仿、练习,自己的动作就是显得不协调,给人的感觉就是和标准动作不一样。我想,掌握这些理论知识,在以后的练习中,我们就可以应用于自己身上,多方面分析自己的动作,提高自己动作的美观度。

3、身体素质的基础:耐力素质、力量素质、快速素质及灵活和柔韧素质。耐力素质指的是身体对堆积于体内的乳酸的耐受程度,具体锻炼方法是在最大适氧量的80%条件下锻炼,通过脉搏判断自己是否达到耐受极限。

另外,我了解到下学期我们要进行身体素质的测验。具体项目包括1、身体形态:身高、体重,15分2、立定跳远 15分 3、座位体前屈 4、肺活量 5、台阶试验或800米。这个测试也说明了学校对学生身体素质的重视,同时,也告诉我们,尽管第一学期的基础体育课结束了,体育锻炼远未结束。实际上,经常性的锻炼与提高身体素质是伴随我们一生的任务,是关乎我们个人健康的关键。日后的大学生活中,我们要积极参加到丰富多彩的体育锻炼中,每天锻炼一小时,健康生活每一天。
