The Intel i5-2410M is a dual-core four thread mobile processor based on the Sandy Bridge architecture. It was launched in Q1 2011 and at the time was reasonably fast with an effective speedof 58: the base clock speed is 2.3 GHz which can boost up to 2.9 GHz when required. The TDP of 35W is relatively high by modern standards and is halved in the i5-3317U (full comparison here). A lower TDP leads to extended battery life which a big plus for mobile processors. The i5-2410M features an integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000 which is less than adequate for the demands of modern games. That said, the i5-2410M is absolutely fine for handling the majority of day to day tasks such as word-processing and web-browsing. [Nov '14 CPUPro]
