Hi, I installed build-lvm-testing SFOS 3.4.0.24, specifically the output of Job #871937492, on 2020-12-24. I noticed that it logs quite a lot in /data/vendor/wifi/wlan_logs. (I started looking because after flashing 3.4.0.24 my battery life, with nearly no use at all, went from a few days to barely a day.) [root@Pro1 ~]# du -hs /data/vendor/wifi/wlan_logs 143.0M /data/vendor/wifi/wlan_logs [root@Pro1 ~]# date ; ls -lhrt /data/vendor/wifi/wlan_logs Mon Dec 28 17:58:34 CET 2020 total 143M -rw------- 1 system system 0 Oct 6 19:32 txrx_pktlog_current.dat -rw------- 1 system system 30.0M Dec 28 16:30 host_driver_logs_001.txt -rw------- 1 system system 30.0M Dec 28 16:49 host_driver_logs_002.txt -rw------- 1 system system 30.0M Dec 28 16:51 cnss_fw_logs_000.txt -rw------- 1 system system 30.0M Dec 28 16:55 cnss_fw_logs_001.txt -rw------- 1 system system 12.3M Dec 28 16:56 host_driver_logs_current.txt -rw------- 1 system system 10.6M Dec 28 16:56 cnss_fw_logs_current.txt [root@Pro1 ~]#I have not checked if the official Jolla images also log this much. (Since I own a Pro1, my Xperia with Jolla provided OS on it has been in a shelf and I have not updated it yet). While I understand why it's important to log in -devel builds, would you consider having it not log in the -testing builds? This RFE is not so much because of the battery drain, I'll have to monitor that in the days to come, but because I believe that if WLAN is giving me trouble, then I would switch logging on explicitly (or just install a -devel build). And a tad over 140 megs over a couple days does seem a wee bit excessive. |
