US soldiers strained by six years at Iraq war are deserting their posts at the highest rate since 1980, with the number of Army deserters this year showing an 80 percent increase since the United States invaded Iraq in 2003.

日前，美国陆军部发表报告说，去年一共有4698名美国陆军士兵“开小差”，逃兵人数比例为1980年以来最高。

当逃兵可以说“desert one's post”,逃兵或开小差的士兵可以说“deserter”，逃兵比例为“desertation rate”，另外，AWOL 表示absent without leave即擅离职守的。
