公章，加盖公章，英语怎么说？

今天和客户聊天时，说到需要在提供的文件要加盖公司的公章。突然间发现自己不知道如何用英语说”公章“这个词，好像从来没学过这个词，隐约记得好像学过 stamp 邮票的意思，好像还有印章的意思。好尴尬啊，然后就赶紧百度了一下，才知道Chop, Stamp, Seal都有印章的意思。为了方便更好的记忆和学习各种印章的英语说法，就仔细baidu，google了一下，并记录下来。

Seal, Chop, Stamp 虽然都是印章的意思，但是，是有些区别的： Seal： 一般指钢印，或代表钢印的标记的印章。对于很正式的文件一般用Seal。 Chop： 多指中、日、韩等国用的印章，多是作品上盖的个人印章，常见的是画家在作品上盖上印章。 Stamp：一般指的是比较正式的章子，例如Company stamp公司印章, rubber stamp橡皮图章。不是很正式的文件（比如一般的介绍信之类的）盖章可以用company stamp。正式文件、法律文件（比如毕业证书）用Seal。

印章的定义 Stamped or blind-embossed (see blind embossing) imprint of a firm's legal name, as an additional evidence that an agreement or a document was executed on behalf of the firm by its authorized agents or officers. Made of rubber or metal, company seals are required in some countries but are a mere formality in others. Also called corporate seal.

其他各种常见印章的英文说法： 大家可能发现在亚洲的一些国家章子的种类繁多，在一些欧美人其实不太知道各种章子的，在一些欧美国家，即使是公司之间签合同，也不需要“公司公章”，有个人签名就行了，请大家注意这点的不同。下面这里列出的各类印章大部分也都是具有中国特色的^_^。

“骑缝章”，一般有两种情况 1) Paging seal / cross-page seal —在盖有许多页纸的文件或合同时,把文件几页纸张的边缝连在一起盖章. 具有防止在文件内增减页码的作用，以保持原件的完整性。 2) a seal on the perforation 公章要均匀盖压在两页可折叠纸的中缝上，一半留作存根，另一半持作凭证，验证时，两半相对，公章应完整、合一，我们暂且称之为中缝章。
