“花开了”英语可不是“flower is open”！到底该怎么表达呢?

“开花”不能翻译成open flower，

这是中式英语，

正确表达用bloom或blossom。

当植物或树bloom，意思是说它长花了。当花bloom，意思是花张开。开花、绽放

例：

These flowers will bloom all through the summer.

bloom和blossom有什么区别？

Noun: A bloom is an individual growth from a plant. Blossom is either all the blooms you see on a tree (cherry blossom, for example) or an individual bloom in the tree.

作为名词：Bloom是植物的个体生长的一个过程。Blossom是指你在一棵树上看到的所有的开的花(例如，樱花)，或者说是一棵树上的一朵单独的开的花，可以叫作blossom。

So, blossom is associated with trees.

所以，blossom一般都是树上开的花。

In both cases the unopened is called a bud.

在这两种情况下，刚萌芽的花骨朵都叫做bud。

发芽和结果怎么说

reap [riːp] 收货；收割

植物的生长是一个漫长的过程，

历经了播种、发芽、开花和结果各个环节，

这些环节的英文表达非常简单。

例：

These beans will sprout in a few days.

这些豆子几天后就可以发芽了。

播种可以说sow，

发芽要用sprout 。

fruit除了果实，也是动词，意思就是结出果实。

果实成熟了需要收割，我们要说reap。

例：

As you sow, so shall you reap.

种瓜得瓜，种豆得豆。
