in the way of除了是妨碍的意思，还有 关于、以什么样的方式的意思：

on sb's way out表示 某人出门时

on the way后面常接介词to，表示在去某个地方的途中，译为“在路上/在途中，在去…的路上”→on the/sb's way to：

They were on their way to the airport.

他们正往机场赶路.

在上学的路上

on the/one's way back to...

在回.......的路上

on the way home

在回家的路上/回家途中

* 为什么是go home而不能是go house？ ←这篇文章我们讲过 home是副词，所以这里不用加to。

*这里的way也是既可以指具体的道路，也可以指抽象的“路”：

She is well on the wayto recovery.

她就要康复了。
