句型解析：
1.说明某件事情发生的原因
这个句型表示“……的原因是……”的意思。这个句型结构比较复杂：句子的主语是the reason,后面有两个复合句。一个是关系副词why所引导的从句，修饰句子的主语是the reason。一个是that所引导的从句。that不能省略。
例句：
The reason why she was fired was that the boss was not satisfied with her job.
她被炒鱿鱼的原因是老班对她的工作不满意。
2.说明事情发生的原因
另外，这个句型还可以简化为：The reason is/was that...。也就是把这个句中why引导的从句去掉。
例句：
The reason is that I took a wrong bus.
（我迟到的）原因是我坐错车了。
