Job overview

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring effective coordination of all elective outpatients’ admissions, waiting listsand admission services within the Directorate in line withNational Policy and locally agreed guidelines, usingdepartmental and Trust systems and working practices.The post holder will need to be an excellent communicator withstrong interpersonal skills who can acknowledge the pressureson the medical staff to ensure that patient pathways aredelivered in a timely and efficient manner.The post holder will manage an agreed number of theatre andclean room waiting list admissions for the Urology surgicalteam, liaising with patients, carers and staff at all levels. Theywill be responsible for the efficient administration of theatre andclean-room bookings from initial referral to patient attendanceand finally discharge, including adherence to RTT and Cancerpathway rules.They will work closely and as part of a team with consultants,nursing, secretarial and medical staff associated with eachtheatre or clean-room session and patient pathwayThey will ensure that the information on HISS is correct andcomplete and validate that information on a regular basis for allelective admissions, waiting lists and admission services withinthe Directorate in line with National Policy and locally agreedguidelines.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity for a Waiting List Coordinator’s has arisen within CHUGGS CMG within Urology.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and motivated individual with passion and drive to join our established team of clinicians, nurses and administration staff. The successful candidates will need to have previous administrative experience in a busy office environment with excellent administrative and organisational skills including the ability to prioritise workloads. Excellent time management skills and experience of working on their own initiative are key requirements.

The department deals with a high volume of patients on a daily basis so the ability to deal with people using empathy and diplomacy is essential.

Please note if you are successful in obtaining this position and the post involves regulated activity you will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service check.

The Trust will pay for the check initially and the money will then be deducted from your salary over a three month period commencing on your first month's payment.

The current price of a check is £38 for an enhanced and £18 for a standard check.
