　　高中英语中,部分及物动词常用于"v.+to+sb.+sth."结构。这种动词后面不接双宾语,而应在表人的宾语前加介词to,该结构也可写成"v.+sth.+to+sb."。现将这种结构的用法总结归纳如下:

　　1. explain to sb. sth. (=explain sth. to sb.)向某人解释某事

　　Could you explain to me the exercise again?请你把这道习题再给我讲一下好吗?

　　She explained to the children that the school had been closed. 她向孩子们解释说学校已经关门了。

　　2. express to sb. sth.(=express sth. to sb.)向某人表达某事

　　We express to him our thanks. 我们向他表达了我们的谢意。

　　He couldn't express his feelings of sadness to his mother. 他不能向母亲表露出他内心的悲痛。

　　3. announce to sb. sth. (=announce sth. to sb.)向某人宣布某事

　　The manager announced to the worker the decision. 经理宣布了对这个工人的决定。

　　They announced their engagement to the family. 他们向家里宣布她们已经订婚了。

　　4. mention to sb. sth. (=mention sth. to sb. )向某人提起某事

　　He mentioned to me your name. 他向我提起过你的名字。

　　Did she mention it to the police? 她向警察提起过此事吗?

　　5. report to sb. sth. (=report sth. to sb.)向某人报告某事

　　The teacher reported to the headmaster that a student was absent. 老师向校长报告说有一个学生没来上学。

　　I reported the accident to the police. 我向警察报告了那次事故。

　　6. retell to sb. sth.(=retell sth. to sb.)向某人复述某事

　　Please retell to your partner what you've read in the material. 请向你的同伴复述你在材料中读到的内容。

　　He's retelling the story to his father. 他正在给他的父亲复述这个故事。

　　7. drink to sb. sth. (=drink sth. to sb.)为某人的某事干杯

　　I drink all happiness and success to you. 我为你的幸福和成功干杯。

　　Let's drink the success of the plan to Tom. 让我们为汤姆计划的成功干杯。

　　8. suggest to sb. sth. (=suggest sth. to sb.) 向某人建议某事

　　The doctor suggested to him that he should not smoke. 医生建议他不要抽烟。

　　She suggested a new teaching method to us. 她建议我们采用一种新的教学方法。

　　9. admit to sb. sth. (=admit sth. to sb.) 向某人承认某事

　　Tom admitted to his teacher that he was wrong. 汤姆向老师承认他错了。

　　He admitted his carelessness to me. 他向我承认了他的粗心大意。
