police的复数

police没有复数形式。police通常表示“警察部队”，“警方”这样的含义，是一个集体名词。若表示个别的、具体的“警官”，则用a police officer，或a policeman/policewoman，复数形式是police officers/policemen/policewomen。

指警察时往往前面有定冠词 the，指“多个警察”时，前面有时有数词，有时没有。可以说a few police， six or sevenpolice 。例如： 

We have reported the matter to the police.  我们将这件事报告了警察。 

Several hundred police were on duty in the street.  几百名警察在街上执行任务。 

注意：police作主语时，谓语动词应该是复数形式。例如： 

The police are looking for the little boy.  警察正在寻找小男孩。 

policeman 是可数名词。复数形式是policemen，说“一个警察”通常用“ a policeman”。例如： 

If you want to know the way,ask a policeman.  如果你想要打听路怎么走，可以去问警察。
