Sapici announces new development in the flexible packaging adhesive

CARONNO PERTUSELLA (VARESE, ITALY­­­) – April 1st, 2016 Sapici is a leading company in the field of polyurethane chemistry and manufacturing of solvent-free and solvent-based adhesive. Today for his 80th anniversary has decided to launch its latest innovation by fixing a new limit for the flexible packaging market.

Thanks to the new family of monomer free laminating adhesives, Sapici is going to challenge the status quo in the food flexible packaging industry. ‘Monomer free’ concept here means that the free monomer content is so low to avoiding typical risk phrases of the monomeric isocyanates on label and safety data sheets.

So, which safety advantages do the Monomer Free technology bring to us?

Firstly, monomer free products show no harmfulness to operators and their working environments. Secondly, it can be easily transported and stored under very limited supervisions. Thirdly, monomer free products do not contain any substances suspected of carcinogenic effect, (like PAA or monomeric isocyanates) migrating from packaging to food products.

Materials produced with our monomer free technology, are able to provide PAA free packaging immediately after lamination without storage time.

Monomer free is a milestone in laminating adhesive technology, and improves safety of the packaging and the environmental condition of work.

The range of monomer free products integrates several advantages. Polurflex 7910 provides high flexibility of use. According to the customer's needs, it can be used as a two-component or single-component system.

In cooperation with Uteco group, and throughout the length of Drupa exhibition 2016, some live demo of the new Polurflex 7910 will be carried out on a Uteco laminating machine Izar series.
