Is the world becoming more or less peaceful and how so? What has been the impact of geopolitical decisions and national policy over time and how have these policies and decisions been impacted in return? Please join us as we explore this and other core questions during this time of global uncertainty, beginning with a 25-minute presentation of core findings from the Global Peace Index. This will be followed by Q&A and open discussion on the evolving nature of peace, conflict and the way countries respond. The Global Peace Index is a world leading measure of global peacefulness and presents a comprehensive data-driven analysis to-date on trends in peace, its economic value, and how to develop peaceful societies.  The index covers 163 countries and territories comprising 99.7 per cent of the world’s population, using 23 qualitative and quantitative indicators from highly respected sources, and measures the state of peace across three domains: the level of Societal Safety and Security; the extent of Ongoing Domestic and International Conflict; and the degree of Militarization. Speaker: Michael Collins, Executive Director Americas, Institute for Economics and Peace
