留学小站丨美国建筑留学NAAB认证深度解读

如果此时此刻你正奔走在美国建筑专业留学申请之路上或是已经行走在美国建筑留学的康庄大道。那么你一定至少听说过NAAB认证。但究竟什么是NAAB认证，拿到NAAB认证有什么用，哪些学校就读可以拿到NAAB认证，可能就有不少同学迷惑啦！今天小编就带大家详细解读NAAB认证。

什么是NAAB

NAAB全称为The National Architectural Accrediting Board，即美国国家建筑认证委员会是美国国内专门用来认证建筑学学位的权威机构。

在经NAAB认证的学校获取相应学位后，虽不能确保学生可以直接注册成为建筑师，但是为顺利注册提供了不少便利条件。在美国绝大部分州，要想成为注册的建筑师，都要求必须毕业于经NAAB认证过的学校或者项目。即便在个别州不需要这样的“硬性”条件的州，也需要有多年的工作经验并获取相应的建筑学学位。由于日常申请工作中经常能够遇到很多咨询去美国读建筑学本科或者研究生的案例，所以，特将经NAAB认证的学校和项目在此做一个简单的归纳。同时，需要大家注意的是，即便一所学校被NAAB认证，并不代表所有的学位都是认证的，比如鼎鼎有名的普林斯顿大学（Princeton University），该校的建筑学研究生学位是经NAAB认证的，但是其本科项目却并未经NAAB认证。这个需要大家在选择学校的时候，一定要注意自己所申请的专业是否是经认证的项目。

NAAB的前世今生

2.1 前世

建筑认证始于伊利诺伊州，1897年该州首次通过了管理建筑实践的立法。伊利诺伊州建筑师考试和监管委员会于1898年进行了第一次考试，到1902年，已经制定了一项规定，将考试限制在该州批准的四年制建筑课程的毕业生。1903年，董事会扩大了这项政策，包括康奈尔大学、哥伦比亚大学、哈佛大学、麻省理工学院和宾夕法尼亚大学的毕业生，这项行动表明了在全国范围内建立等同制度的必要性。

1912年，美国大学建筑学院协会(ACSA)成立，两年后又通过了“标准最低限度”(Standardminima)，学校必须满足该标准，才能被授予会员资格。在1932年，美国建筑师协会放弃了标准最低限度的使用，导致该专业的国家教育体系中断了8年，当美国建筑师协会、美国建筑师协会(AIA)和国家建筑注册委员会理事会(NCARB)成立了NAAB并授予其批准权时，中断结束了。1940年NAAB成立，：the National Architectural Accrediting Board，即美国国家建筑认证协会，是美国最古老的建筑教育认证机构。是美国唯一能够认可并授权美国建筑专业学位课程的机构。

2.2 今生

NAAB不给学校排名。根据认证期限，NAAB团队每隔两年、三年或六年访问经过认证的建筑项目。访问小组准备访问小组报告(VTR)来记录访问。这些报告可以在每个授权程序的库中找到。有些组织对建筑体系结构程序进行排名，但NAAB并不认可这些。并不是所有的建筑学位都被NAAB认证，目前被NAAB认证的建筑学位仅限3种： Bachelor of Architecture(建筑学士学位), the Master of Architecture(建筑硕士学位) 及 the Doctor of Architecture(建筑博士学位)，诸如Bachelor of Science in Architecture(建筑科学学士学位)是没被认证的，而且还会有课程的限制。

哪些学校通过了NAAB

如果能够在NAAB认证的学校攻读学位课程，学校会在开课的过程中提供美国国家建筑师资格考试的相关课程和辅导，而且学生可以直接考证。而非认证的学校就读的学生不仅需要工作经验，可能还需要补一些课程。

获得NAAB认证的学位课程，包含通识课程、专业课程、选修课，共同组成建筑学的人文培育部分，确保毕业生不仅具备专业技能，也能成为在变化的社会环境中准确界定各种职业发展的核心思想者。更确切地说，NAAB要求已获认证的学位课程培养具备以下素质的毕业生：

1.掌握一系列有关专业、空间、技术和人际关系的知识；

2.了解历史、社会文化和建筑环境背景；

3.可以解决建筑设计难题，包括集成技术系统、健康和安全要求；

4.熟知建筑师在社会中的角色和责任。
