“开心”不止是 happy 哦~

表达开心的形容词有很多，今天重点给大家讲四个：cheerful、pleased、glad 和 thrilled。

cheerful /'tʃɪəfʊl/

adj.高兴的、快乐的、愉快的

cheerful 这个单词，不仅表达人物开心的心情，更意味着开心这种心情也表现在动作上，比方说说话面带微笑、或是语气很和善。

pleased /pli:zd/

adj. 快乐的、高兴的

pleased 也表示开心，但它更强调因为对别人做的事感到满意而开心。

glad /glæd/

adj. 高兴的、开心的

和前两个单词不同，glad 这个单词强调因事情有改善，或者不是很糟而开心。

thrilled /θrɪld/

adj. 非常激动的、兴奋的、高兴的

thrilled 不止是开心，更是因为开心而非常激动、兴奋

她开心地笑着答应了。

2. She is pleased with her son's progress.

她很开心她儿子取得了进步。

3. He is glad that the meeting is a success.

delight 开心

表示开心的名词也有很多，但今天咱们主要学 delight，先吃透一个单词。

delight /dɪ'laɪt/

n. 开心、快乐

delight 表示“开心、快乐”时，是不可数名词，但表示“令人开心的事”时，是可数名词，因为事情是一件一件的，可以数清的。

这里的 with 可以理解为“带着”，带着快乐，意思就是“开心的”。这个短语里的 delight 就是不可数名词。

让某人开心的是

to one's delight 意思是“令人开心的是”，它还以写作 to the delight of someone。

这里的 delight 是动词，表示“使某人开心”，这个词组的意思就是用某事让某人开心。

大家说“你让我很开心”是不是会说 you made me happy 呢？其实英语里有个很地道的短语能表达这个意思，就是 make one's day，大家以后就可以直接说 you made my day~

极度高兴、开心之极

这个短语字面意思是在世界的上面，让人一下就想起我们常说的“我都开心的上天了”，所以这个短语表示一个人极度开心的状态。

他今天早上心情很好。

2. Thank you! You just made my day.

谢谢你让我今天一天都很开心。

3. When he found his wife was pregnant, he was on the top of the world.

当他发现妻子怀孕时，他感到特别开心。
