▲wildlife 是一个不可数的集合名词，且通常不连用冠词；用作主语时，谓语用单数；可用 much, little 等修饰，但不用 many, few 修饰。如：

The wood is a haven for wildlife. 这片树林是野生生物的安乐窝。

Polluted water sources are a hazard to wildlife. 被污染的水源对野生动物有危害。

There is much wildlife in the forests of Maine. 在缅因州的森林里有很多野生动物。

Wildlife is fast disappearing from our countryside. 野生动物正从乡间快速消失。

Pesticides can kill wildlife and pollute the atmosphere. 杀虫剂可能杀死野生生物，也会污染空气。

▲但是，若特指（比如特指某一地区的“野生生物”）则可连用定冠词。如：

The increasing use of pesticides threatens the wildlife of the area. 越来越多地使用杀虫剂威胁到这个地区野生动植物的生存。

The human population in the region is expanding in inverse proportion to the wildlife.  这个地区的人口在膨胀，而野生生物的数量却在减少。
