forward的用法

forward是什么意思呢？

我们先通过一个例句来了解一下：

The goods will be forwarded to your house.

这批货将发送到你的家里。

注意： forward也可以作形容词用，意思是“位于前部的”、“位于前面的”、“早熟的”等。比如：a forward cabin（前舱），a forward summer (早来的夏天)，a forward plan (预先计划)等。又如：The child is very forward for his age.这孩子懂事很早。

解释： forward作副词用，大家都比较熟悉，比如look forward to sth.(盼望、期待)这个词组。但本句中的forward是动词，意思是“递送”，相当于英语动词send。Forward作动词用时，还可以表示“转交”、“发送”、“转寄”(send forward or pass on letters, parcels, etc. to a new address)；或“促进”、“加速……的生长”(to help advance the development of sth.)等。例如： to forward a plan推进一项计划 to forward one’s career促进自己的事业 The letter was forwarded from a previous address. 这封信是从先前的地址转来的。 When we moved house, we asked the people who took our old house to
